( he might have done his fair share of putting down the wolves, himself — and none of it had been easy, because it hadn't been anyone's fault — but at the very least, on his end, no one he'd known personally had met the business end of one of his arrows.

even knowing that megumi is going to be okay ( he has to be, he's been told ), it takes everything in him not to worry alongside yuji. what the boy needs is an anchor, someone to help hold him up when he would otherwise prefer to fold in on himself and his worry.

what an awful sensei he'd be, if he let that happen.

We won't know for sure if it's ever going to be over, will we? ( he tries to keep his tone light. almost nonchalant. ) Maybe not until the next blood moon, at least … but there's no use in worrying yourself now when it's not going to happen again anytime soon, don't you think?

He has you looking after him. I think that means he's going to be just fine when he wakes up.

[ This is strange for Yuji, who is so used to keeping these things to himself; he bottles it up because it doesn't feel right sharing it with people. But with Gojo-sensei being here... It feels a little easier, somehow, like he can trust himself to do it, just like he can trust Gojo.

He's quiet, his voice low - clearly he is still in the room with Fushiguro, not wanting to wake him too soon. ]

Do you think these will happen regularly? I'll have to find something to keep him safe...

[ Yuji sighs. ]

Do you think I need to worry about food, or water?

( for all he messes around and acts like a complete goofball, he does care about his students and their well-being very, very much. to the point that he would go above and beyond to make sure they were comfortable. healthy. that they are, bottom line, properly cared for.

megumi is so very lucky to have this precious boy worrying after him as much as he does. he hopes they both stop being stupid at some point in the future and realize they're more than just best friends. )

I don't know, but I think ... since it seems things have calmed down for a minute, you might be all right for a little while. At least until he wakes up.

( he's quiet for a moment, himself. ) I'm not sure, but ... is there anything I can do to help? Either of you? You have to sleep sometime yourself, you know.

I don't know. I haven't stopped to eat or anything just yet and I don't think I can sleep.

[ He's too hyped up on adrenaline and fear to think about going to sleep, and he shifts a little anxiously. ]

... Gojo-sensei, what if he doesn't wake up and it's my fault?

You need to eat, Yuji. You're not going to be much help to him if you end up passing out, yeah?

( he's still trying to keep his tone light, because even though he's well aware of the severity of the situation, he doesn't want to upset him more than he already is. )

He's going to wake up, I don't want you thinking about that. At all, got it? None of this is your fault. ( he pauses, trying to keep his composure for the other's sake, but anything happening to his kids that he can't do anything about doesn't sit well with him. never has, never will. )

[ It's not as if it's something that's consciously in his mind, all things considered. The idea of eating makes him feel queasy, but...

Leaning back in his chair, he slumps a little. ]

( stress and anxiety aren't very often kind to the stomach, he knows that well enough for himself, but he has to fuss over the one that fusses over literally everyone else all the time, doesn't he?

and he hates that there isn't much he can do expect wait with him, whether in spirit or in person, if he wanted it. )

Are you sure you don't want me to come by?

[ Yuji is quiet for a moment - he's leaning over to adjust Megumi's blanket and settle him down a touch - before he settles back in his chair. ]
